Scholarships for PGA Associates Level 2 & above
Chris Thomas NCPGA Associate Scholarships
Northern California PGA Associates who have already completed "Level 1" of the PGA Professional Golf Management Program may apply for the Foundation's Chris Thomas NCPGA Associate Scholarship. This scholarship award is funded through the Foundation's fundraising campaign efforts, and direct donations.
The scholarship is named after the Section's beloved Executive Director & Chief Operations Officer Chris Thomas, who served the association as its leader from 2004 to 2017. Tragically, Chris's life was cut short in October 2017. Chris began his tenure with the NCPGA as an amateur player but he had the passion and desire to become a PGA Professional. While serving the membership and representing the Section in Northern Californa and across the country, Chris enrolled in the Professional Golf Management (PGM) program and graduated to Class A status in 2013 at the age of 50! Chris's love for his job, the members, and the game of golf is an inspiration to the men and women who dream of becoming a PGA Professional.
Eligible candidates: PGA Associates at Level 2 or above employed within the NCPGA Section.
NEW Application Period is November 15th through March 15th. Deadline is March 15th.
The Award amount up to $5,000 will be awarded at the discretion of the Award Fund-Giving Committee to eligible and deserving applicants.
Thank you to SCNS for being a contributor towards this scholarship in memory of Chris Thomas, PGA.
